Preparing Neurodivergent students to soar into the drone industry

Neurodiversity sums up variations in the human brain regarding sociability, learning, attention, mood, and other mental functions and originally referred most commonly to autism. Today, people with ADHD, dyslexia, and other developmental differences are also included in neurodivergent populations.
We believe neurodiversity should be celebrated and respected. We don’t believe neurodiversity equals disability (without ability), in fact, quite the opposite. While not every neurodivergent child is a child prodigy, well-documented autistic traits show high attention to detail in the area of interest of the child. Asperger himself referred to children with this syndrome as “little professors.” Many children with neurodiversity have genius or high IQ scores, yet these same children end up being chronically unemployed or underemployed.
Neurodiversity Works was born to prepare neurodiverse students for careers in the drone industry (pilots, analysts, management, etc). We develop targeted technical training programs, foster relationships between students and industry mentors, and work with employers to advocate for neurodiversity hiring programs.
May 5, 2022 - We had a blast supporting the 2022 Colorado Rockies STEM Day at Coors Field. The students were all very surprised to see large drones participate in the Egg Drop Competition. Drones are the ultimate STEM tool!
Coming July 2023 - Neurodiversity Drone Camp is a collaborative three-day training program for neurodivergent students that covers everything you need to know to use drones for mapping and data collection. We are looking for sponsors, instructors, collaborators, and volunteers - and, of course, STUDENTS
